OpenGov is seeking an Account Executive to lead sales efforts for their ERP product suite within an assigned territory. The role focuses on territory planning, prospect identification, lead generation, and managing the complete sales cycle from initial contact through contract closure. Key responsibilities include driving customer relationships and sales strategy for a defined product suite, collaborating with the ERP POD Leader on complex multi-suite opportunities, and establishing relationships with senior government leaders. The Account Executive will generate new leads through networking, cold calling, and leveraging company marketing activities, while making product demonstrations and presentations to customers and prospects at various organizational levels. The role requires developing deep knowledge of OpenGov's products and client verticals (local/state governments, special districts, nonprofits, higher education, school districts), addressing use cases and competitive advantages, and facilitating executive and technical follow-ups to close deals. Additional responsibilities include target account selling, contract negotiations, collaboration with marketing on demand-generation campaigns and trade shows, and ownership of sales process management using MEDDIC methodology. The ideal candidate brings 2-4 years of quota-carrying software sales experience, with a strong track record of hitting and exceeding quotas. Experience in the State and Local Government vertical is a bonus. Required skills include ability to close complex consultative deals, fluency with CRM systems (ideally Salesforce), and strong written communication. The role requires up to 50% travel and thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments. A bachelor's degree is required.
