Descript is seeking an Account Executive to drive enterprise and creator sales for its AI-powered video and audio editing platform. As one of the early sales hires, you'll own the full sales cycle from prospecting through closing and expansion, building a scalable sales playbook alongside Product and Marketing teams. Key responsibilities include developing and executing outbound strategies to identify new opportunities, running product demos and technical conversations with multiple stakeholder levels, and building executive-level relationships with enterprise customers. You'll travel to industry conferences and customer meetings, collaborate cross-functionally to optimize the customer journey, and feed market insights back into product and marketing initiatives. You bring proven success in quota-carrying B2B SaaS or AI sales roles, with demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and close high-value deals. You have hands-on cold outbound experience and can translate technical products into clear business outcomes. You're creative, persistent, and curious about building pipeline; comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments; and ideally have enthusiasm for creator-oriented tools in video, audio, or AI, plus knowledge of media creation workflows. Descript is a 150-person company backed by OpenAI, Andreessen Horowitz, Redpoint Ventures, and Spark Capital. The company has achieved product-market fit with a passionate user community and is positioned for growth. Each new employee has measurable influence on company direction. Headquarters are in San Francisco's Mission District; the role is hybrid with flexibility and occasional in-person collaboration opportunities for remote employees.
