Baselayer is rebuilding the identity and trust infrastructure layer for American financial institutions. The company has built a business graph that fuses public records, IRS data, sanctions lists, and fraud telemetry from 2,200+ financial institutions, achieving 98% match rates in under two years—compared to legacy credit bureaus' 60% after 50 years. Trusted by over 20% of US financial institutions including FIS, Rho, and Socure, Baselayer is now expanding into the agentic economy as AI agents begin transacting at scale.
The Agentic Economy team is a small, senior-led startup within Baselayer, working directly with payment networks, banks, wallet providers, and agent platforms to define the category and build the trust infrastructure for agent-to-counterparty transactions. This role is the first dedicated seller on the team.
You will own the full sales cycle for agentic economy products: prospecting, discovery, demos, negotiation, and close. Responsibilities include executing targeted outbound prospecting sequences into named segments, leading discovery conversations to understand customer pain points, running high-quality product demos and managing pilots, conducting technical evaluations with buyers' risk, compliance, and engineering teams, and contributing to segment playbook development (ICP definitions, messaging, objection handling, pricing). You'll collaborate with GTM leadership on positioning and sales motions, partner with Product and Engineering to share customer feedback and influence roadmap decisions, and represent Baselayer with credibility and thought leadership.
Minimum qualifications: 4+ years of quota-carrying B2B sales of API, data, or infrastructure products to big tech, payments, or financial institution buyers; consistent track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets; experience running complex, consultative sales cycles with technical or analytical buyers; strong discovery, storytelling, and objection-handling skills; comfort operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving environments; proactive, self-directed mindset.
What sets you apart: first or founding AE experience at an early-stage company; familiarity with agentic commerce, stablecoin/digital asset platforms, or the AI agent ecosystem; existing network in target segments; high intellectual curiosity and learning velocity.
