OpenAI's Go To Market team is seeking an experienced Account Director to own relationships with strategically important startup customers and help them build successfully on the OpenAI platform. You will serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of startup accounts, developing comprehensive account plans and executing strategies to drive consumption revenue growth. Key responsibilities include managing a portfolio of startup accounts with assigned revenue targets, partnering with solutions and research engineering teams to build and execute complex customer programs, and monitoring key account metrics to provide insights to internal and external stakeholders. You'll work cross-functionally with product, research, engineering, support, and solutions architecture to help customers maximize value from OpenAI's models. You will closely monitor the startup and industry landscape to contribute to product roadmap and corporate strategy, serve as an advocate for improving the startup experience, and synthesize product feedback from customer interactions. The role also includes supporting recruitment and onboarding of team members and contributing to company culture development. Required experience includes 6+ years selling platform-as-a-service or software-as-a-service solutions, designing and executing complex deal strategies, and working in or around the startup ecosystem (as a founder, startup employee, or startup customer account manager). You should have experience supporting fast-growing companies, working directly with C-level executives, communicating technical concepts effectively, and leading high-visibility customer events. Ideal candidates are customer-centric with deep curiosity about artificial intelligence, passionate about deploying technology responsibly, and excited by building systems and processes from the ground up. You should be a strategic thinker who understands go-to-market best practices and can raise the bar for organizational execution. The role is based in London with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week, with relocation assistance available.
