OpenAI's Go To Market team is seeking an Account Director to drive new business opportunities for its AI products. This role combines technical acumen, strategic vision, and enterprise sales expertise to help customers understand and deploy OpenAI's capabilities across their organizations.
You will own the full sales cycle from pipeline generation through customer deployment, working with enterprise prospects to evolve their industries with AI. Key responsibilities include building and managing a pipeline of new business opportunities, leading enterprise customer journeys from consideration to successful deployment, partnering with solutions and research engineering teams on complex customer programs, and owning a consumption revenue target. You'll analyze opportunity metrics to inform internal stakeholders, monitor the competitive and industry landscape to contribute to product strategy, and collaborate across solutions, marketing, product, engineering, and operations teams. Additionally, you'll support recruitment and onboarding of sales teammates and contribute to company culture development.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of enterprise SaaS/PaaS sales experience, with a track record of achieving $1M+ annual revenue targets for 3+ years. You should have deep experience managing complex enterprise sales cycles, closing deals with high-growth companies, and working directly with C-level executives. Strong technical communication skills are essential, as is experience leading high-visibility customer events and gathering market intelligence. You are customer-centric, deeply curious about AI, and thrive as a builder who can create systems and processes from the ground up. You embrace strategic thinking, operate comfortably with ambiguity, and are motivated to help deploy transformative technology responsibly.
The role is based in San Francisco, New York, or Seattle, with hybrid work (3 days in-office per week). Remote work within the US is also being considered. Relocation assistance is available.
