Innovaccer is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to serve as a senior technical leader who remains deeply engaged in hands-on coding. This is a builder's role: you will personally design and build complex, high-impact components of the healthcare platform—backend services, data pipelines, and AI/ML-powered features—while setting technical direction for your team or domain.
Key responsibilities include designing and shipping critical platform components, building end-to-end AI/ML-powered product features with model integration and production reliability, driving technical design for systems within your domain with focus on scalability and security, and modeling engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle. You will build resilient, well-tested services that integrate across products and external healthcare systems, ensure compliance with HIPAA and GDPR, debug and harden production systems, and provide hands-on technical mentorship through design reviews and code review.
You will partner with product and clinical stakeholders to translate real-world healthcare needs into technically sound designs, evaluate and recommend technologies and frameworks, and take ownership of reliability and incident response for systems you build.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 7+ years of software engineering with a strong track record of building and shipping production systems. Deep, current hands-on coding expertise in modern languages (Python, Java, Go, or similar). Strong software design skills in distributed systems, backend services, APIs, and data-intensive architectures. Experience building and integrating AI/ML into products, connecting models to real systems, and operationalizing them in production. Hands-on experience operating production systems including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and incident response. Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) and regulatory compliance, or ability to ramp quickly. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
