As Workplace Technology Specialist in New York, you'll be the hands-on first point of contact for employee technology needs, reporting to the Workplace Technology Lead. This is an individual contributor role focused on keeping Legora's internal technology running smoothly—from employee laptops and onboarding to meeting rooms and office connectivity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as first-line support for employees, troubleshooting laptops, applications, accounts, peripherals, and connectivity issues via service desk and in-person
- Onboard new hires by staging devices, setting up accounts and access, checking equipment, and introducing them to company tools
- Maintain meeting rooms: run AV checks, troubleshoot conferencing equipment, support all-hands and events
- Manage local hardware lifecycle including provisioning, inventory, loaner equipment, repairs, and asset tracking
- Troubleshoot office Wi-Fi and wired connectivity, escalating complex issues with clear diagnostics
- Support office moves, desk setups, equipment installations, and vendor coordination
- Maintain office technology like badge readers and cameras by identifying faults and coordinating fixes
- Create support documentation and help test automation and AI-assisted support workflows
The role is onsite in New York five days a week at Legora's Union Square office, which includes daily provided lunch.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on IT support, workplace technology, desktop support, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to troubleshoot macOS devices, common business applications, peripherals, and basic network issues
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues; patient and approachable demeanor
- Thrives in fast-paced startup environment; assesses urgency and follows through on priorities
- Comfortable with security and access procedures; handles employee information carefully
- Curious, willing to learn, and quick to act; notices recurring problems and suggests improvements
- Enjoys being present in office environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with meeting-room AV and conferencing tools (Zoom Rooms, Neat)
- Familiarity with Apple Business Manager and endpoint management platforms
- Knowledge of identity, access, and collaboration tools (1Password)
- Experience with office networking or physical-security hardware (Meraki, badge readers, Verkada)
- Experience with ITSM platforms (Serval, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, Freshservice)
- Interest in scripting or workflow automation
