Clay is a fast-growing AI-powered B2B SaaS platform that helps companies go to market with data enrichment, workflow automation, and AI agents. Recently raised $115M Series D at $7.1B valuation and is on track to cross $200M in revenue this quarter. The company operates three global offices (San Francisco, New York, London) with an in-person-first culture.
You will lead all workplace operations for Clay's flagship New York headquarters—a brand new, state-of-the-art 160,000 square foot space designed to be the heart of the company. This is a strategic leadership role that combines operational excellence with culture-building and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own all workplace operations including facilities management, space planning, vendor relationships, budget management, and long-term strategic planning for the 160,000 sq ft space
- Lead the NYC workplace team by example, mentor staff, establish best practices, and serve as a role model for service excellence; future opportunity to formally manage the team as the company scales
- Oversee facility operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, janitorial services, security systems, access control, and building maintenance
- Manage relationships with landlords, building management, cleaning services, catering partners, security providers, and other vendors; negotiate contracts and ensure service level excellence
- Partner with leadership to optimize space utilization, manage seating assignments for 250+ people, coordinate office moves and reconfigurations, and plan for future growth
- Lead strategic office operations including seating plans, company-wide office norms and standards, kitchen and pantry management, meeting room technology, and smooth service delivery
- Ensure compliance with building codes, fire safety regulations, ADA requirements, and workplace safety standards; lead emergency preparedness planning
- Manage the workplace experience budget, track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and deliver exceptional experiences within financial parameters
- Partner with the broader workplace experience team on events, programming, and culture-building initiatives
- Dream up and execute innovative workplace experiences and programming that strengthen Clay's unique culture
- Work closely with workplace leads in SF and London to share best practices, standardize processes, and ensure consistency
- Track key metrics, gather employee feedback, analyze utilization data, and continuously improve the workplace experience
Requirements:
Must Have:
- 4+ years of workplace/facilities experience with demonstrated success leading an office of 250+ people; proven track record scaling office operations and managing large, complex workspaces
- Large-scale office move experience; successfully planned and executed a major office relocation or move, managing complex logistics, timelines, vendor coordination, and employee experience
- Deep experience managing facility operations for 100,000+ square foot spaces, including knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and vendor management
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop long-term workplace strategies, anticipate future needs, and proactively solve complex operational challenges
- Strong project management skills, organizational abilities, ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, exceptional attention to detail, and calm under pressure
- Proven experience negotiating and managing complex vendor relationships, service level agreements, and multi-year contracts
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills; ability to work with senior leadership, building management, external partners, and cross-functional teams at all levels
- Quick-thinking problem-solver who can troubleshoot complex facility issues, make sound decisions under pressure, and find creative solutions
- Clear, professional, and proactive communicator in writing and verbally, with strong presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders
- Genuine passion for creating exceptional workplace experiences and going above and beyond to support employees
- Creative vision and innovation; full of ideas and comfortable experimenting with new concepts; sees opportunities where others see constraints; not afraid to try new things and iterate

- Experience at a 500+ person company; understanding of unique challenges and complexities of supporting large, fast-growing organizations
- Experience opening or managing brand new, large-scale office spaces (100,000+ sq ft)
