ApplyBoard is seeking a Workday HCM & Payroll Functional Analyst to serve as the functional owner of HR and Payroll business processes end-to-end. This role is responsible for translating People and Payroll team operational needs into scalable, well-governed Workday configurations while ensuring data accuracy, maintaining audit-ready processes, and continuously improving the full hire-to-retire and pay lifecycle. Key responsibilities include owning hire-to-retire processes (recruiting, hiring, onboarding, job changes, transfers, leaves, terminations), managing organizational structures and position management with headcount governance, and configuring the Workday Business Process Framework. You will support merit, bonus, and equity cycles; manage compensation changes and downstream payroll impacts; configure absence plans and time-off processes; and ensure benefits enrollment accuracy. Additional duties encompass payroll process support including pay calculation validation and audit, leading payroll parallel testing for releases, coordinating with integration teams on GL, tax, and benefits carrier integrations, and optimizing recruiting workflows and onboarding experiences. You will build advanced, matrix, and composite reports and dashboards; develop audit and exception reporting; improve manager and employee self-service adoption; maintain role-based security and segregation of duties; and lead Workday HCM and Payroll release readiness. Required qualifications include 5+ years of hands-on Workday HCM with direct ownership of business process configuration (routing, conditions, validations), production Workday Payroll experience with parallel testing and pay calculation validation expertise, proven reporting depth across advanced/matrix/composite reports and calculated fields, and hands-on configuration of Core HCM, position management, compensation, absence, and benefits. Strong stakeholder partnering skills, ability to run requirements sessions, and working knowledge of Workday security concepts and bi-annual release cycles are essential.
