Salary: USD 74,000 - 137,000 / annual
Optimizely is seeking a Web Developer to join its digital experience team in New York. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Web Development, you will work at the intersection of front-end development, content, and marketing to build a world-class web presence powered by Optimizely's market-leading SaaS CMS platform.
In this role, you will translate design files into polished, high-performing web experiences, build and maintain reusable UI components, ship pixel-accurate pages from Figma, and connect the front end to content through a headless CMS. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary designers, content creators, and senior engineers in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Key responsibilities include developing responsive web pages using modern JavaScript and React, implementing design systems from Figma into production-ready code, managing multiple concurrent projects, and maintaining high standards for code quality and accessibility. You will participate in code reviews, manage deployments via Git, and bridge communication between content/marketing teams and engineering.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong JavaScript and React fundamentals with solid component-based UI development experience
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and utility-first frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS)
- Ability to translate Figma design files into production-ready web pages
- Familiarity with Next.js or similar server-rendered React frameworks
- Proficiency with Git and standard version control workflows
- Detail-oriented approach to styling, code quality, and structured conventions
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative working style
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with different timelines independently
- Strong understanding of software development cycle, Object-Oriented analysis and design
- Understanding of design patterns (MVC, MVVM)
- High comfort level using Git with other developers, including deployments and code reviews
- Understanding of reliable website deployment from Git repositories
- Experience developing for content management systems
- Experience with Azure App Services, Functions, and SQL Databases
- Experience with Optimizely (formerly Episerver)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with Headless CMS platforms (Optimizely, Contentful, Sanity)
- Working knowledge of GraphQL basics
- Web accessibility standards (WCAG) experience
- Automated testing knowledge (unit and end-to-end)
- Familiarity with component documentation tools like Storybook
- Portfolio or past work examples demonstrating coding capabilities
