Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced AI and autonomy, is seeking a Wargaming Research Systems Specialist to join the Advanced Capabilities team in Abu Dhabi. This role will initially be based in London while the Abu Dhabi simulation center is under construction.
You will design and develop operationally relevant wargames and training simulations for military customers in the Middle East region, working directly with EDGE and the Emirati Ministry of Defense. Your responsibilities include:
- Research, design, and develop wargames that translate customer operational objectives into immersive, structured exercises using Anduril's proprietary modeling, simulation, and AR/VR tools. You will own scenario design end-to-end: operational context, orders of battle, friendly and adversary forces, objectives, timelines, victory conditions, and analytic questions.
- Facilitate multi-day wargaming exercises as designer and control cell lead, managing planning, preparation, execution, and recovery. You will drive gameplay, adjudicate outcomes, manage moves and injects, and adapt scenarios in real-time to maintain challenge and alignment with learning objectives.
- Build and maintain a reusable library of wargame scenarios, models, and content in Anduril's M&S and AR/VR platforms, refining processes to enable rapid configuration, repetition, and scaling from small demonstrations to large exercises.
- Design and implement structured After-Action Reviews and feedback loops to gather insights and requirements from wargames and exercises, translating findings into concrete improvements to scenarios, adjudication logic, and event delivery.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to drive development of features and configurations that enhance Anduril's wargaming and mission simulation products, advocating for tools and content designers need.
- Support end-users in understanding advanced warfare concepts through high-quality wargame content, system integration, and effective event delivery that maximizes engagement and learning.
- Contribute to a cross-functional Advanced Capabilities team including Project Managers, Operations Analysts, Mission Simulation Engineers, and senior leadership, ensuring continuous improvement in wargame design, delivery, and learning outcomes.
Required qualifications include proven experience designing and running wargames or operational training scenarios for diverse clients and operational environments; strong internal and external communication skills; expertise in scenario design, complex problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail; eligibility for security clearance; and willingness to travel and be based in the UAE while collaborating with UK and US teams.
