Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Vice President of Production for its Mission Systems division. This executive role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all production activities across Mission Systems, one of Anduril's fastest-growing divisions spanning Imaging, Battlespace Awareness, and Electronic Warfare product areas.
The VP Production will oversee a geographically distributed production footprint including facilities in Costa Mesa, Lexington, Boulder, Santa Barbara, Fort Collins, and Huntsville. Responsibilities include establishing strategic and operational leadership across multiple production facilities to ensure consistency in quality, cost, and delivery performance; leading and building production capabilities for a portfolio of products while balancing investment, capacity, and talent allocation; and partnering with R&D, sales, and engineering teams on new product introduction efforts.
Key accountabilities include driving division-level production strategy including facility footprint decisions, make-vs-buy analyses, capital deployment planning, and workforce sizing aligned to multi-year business forecasts. The role owns the division's production P&L. The VP will establish an operational excellence framework and continuous improvement culture leveraging lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce costs, improve yields, and increase throughput.
Additional responsibilities include establishing and monitoring KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, schedule, and cost; building and developing a high-performing production organization; supporting capital planning and budgeting; ensuring regulatory, environmental, health, and safety compliance; leading capacity planning and footprint strategy; and serving as a member of the division's senior leadership team contributing to strategic planning.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred); 15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience with at least 7-10 years in senior/executive roles overseeing 500+ employees; proven track record leading large, complex manufacturing operations across multiple sites; experience managing simultaneous product ramps and scaling international operations; expertise across all five pillars of production (planning, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, operations, quality); demonstrated ability to set and scale operational excellence frameworks with deep lean manufacturing expertise; and experience managing large budgets in the hundreds of millions and capital programs.
