Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Vice President of Production for its Frontier Systems (AFS) division. This executive role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all production activities across AFS's multi-site footprint spanning Georgia, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Ohio. AFS is structured around several business lines covering space, intelligence, and air, missile, and ground defense—all powered by Lattice OS, Anduril's AI-powered command and control operating system.
The VP Production will orchestrate a portfolio of production programs across multiple business lines and facilities, owning the division's production P&L and making critical resource allocation decisions. Key responsibilities include establishing strategic and operational leadership across multiple production facilities to ensure consistency in quality, cost, and delivery performance; leading and building production capabilities for a diverse product portfolio while balancing investment, capacity, and talent allocation; partnering with R&D, sales, and engineering teams on new product introductions and developing production lines from scratch; and driving division-level production strategy including facility footprint decisions, make-vs-buy analyses, capital deployment, and workforce sizing aligned to multi-year forecasts.
The role requires establishing an operational excellence framework and continuous improvement culture across the division using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to reduce costs, improve yields, and increase throughput. The VP will establish and monitor KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, schedule, and cost; build and develop a high-performing production organization; support capital planning and budgeting; ensure regulatory, environmental, health, and safety compliance; lead capacity planning and footprint strategy; and serve as a member of the division's senior leadership team contributing to strategic planning and representing production in executive, customer, and investor contexts.
Required qualifications include 15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience with at least 7-10 years in a senior or executive role overseeing 500+ employees in high-growth environments. Candidates must have proven track records leading large, complex manufacturing operations across multiple sites, managing simultaneous product ramps, and scaling international operations. Deep expertise across all five pillars of production (planning, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, operations, quality), demonstrated ability to set and scale operational excellence frameworks, experience managing large budgets in the hundreds of millions and capital programs, and excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential. Experience in regulated industries such as defense, aerospace, automotive, or medical devices is preferred. Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
