Mistral is building a sovereign AI cloud and seeking a VP Product to own the cloud infrastructure and inference portfolio end-to-end. This role encompasses the foundational systems powering Mistral's datacenters and the inference platform bringing advanced generative AI models to production.
You will own both scopes with a broad mandate. As the business scales, you'll build the product organization and stream leadership to delegate responsibilities. Key responsibilities include:
**Strategy & Vision**: Define and evangelize the product vision, strategy, and annual goals for Inference and Cloud products, aligned with customer needs, company objectives, and market trends.
**Go-to-Market**: Own adoption, revenue contribution, and gross margin. Partner with marketing and GTM teams on positioning, pricing, packaging, launch plans, and adoption strategy.
**Team Leadership**: Build the product organization by hiring product managers and stream leads, setting operating cadence (quarterly product reviews, roadmap reviews), and developing PMs through clear growth paths.
**Customer & Market Fit**: Work directly with AI-native startups and enterprises running advanced AI workloads to drive product-market fit across the portfolio.
**Delivery & Execution**: Partner with engineering leadership to build a world-class compute infrastructure and inference platform delivering high-performance, cost-efficient AI at scale, with reliability, SLAs, and cost-per-token economics as first-class product concerns.
**Market & Technology Insights**: Track the competitive landscape and emerging technologies across AI infrastructure and managed inference to inform product strategy and identify new opportunities.
**Research & Open Source**: Partner with research and engineering teams to turn emerging model architectures and advances in open-source inference into product opportunities that improve performance and efficiency.
This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape how Mistral's technology is adopted globally and unlock a major new line of business.
**Requirements**:
- Extensive experience in tech and infrastructure, including significant time leading product organizations with a proven track record of bringing cloud infrastructure, large-scale distributed systems, or inference products to market
- Engineering background prior to moving into product management
- Track record of taking an infra or inference product from early stage to material revenue and adoption
- Proven people leadership: hired and grown senior PMs, organized teams around clear stream ownership, and built durable operating cadences
- Fluency in business economics: comfortable owning gross margin, unit economics, and tradeoffs behind pricing and capacity
- Ability to align and inspire cross-functional teams without direct authority, and communicate credibly with executives, engineers, and customers
- Low ego, high bias for action, and comfort in ambiguity—equally capable of crafting strategy narratives and diving into metrics, UX details, or customer escalations
