Salary: USD 194,000 - 298,000 / annual
Okta is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the Okta Identity Governance (OIG) platform, one of the company's fastest-growing products. Identity Governance helps thousands of customers maintain zero-standing privileges, automate access certifications, streamline lifecycle management, and meet compliance obligations.
In this role, you will own the product strategy and vision for the Identity Governance platform and evangelize it to internal and external stakeholders. You will engage directly with customers to understand pain points around governance, compliance, and access management, identifying opportunities where Okta can differentiate. You will define and execute the roadmap with appropriate prioritization trade-offs, lead a scrum team of engineers to deliver high-quality features on schedule, and stay current with innovations and competitive dynamics in the identity governance space.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging with customers to understand governance, compliance, and access management pain points
- Defining and executing the roadmap for the Okta Identity Governance platform
- Setting product strategy and vision, evangelizing to internal and external stakeholders
- Prioritizing roadmap items to ensure execution of the product vision
- Leading a scrum team of engineers and delivering key features with high quality and on schedule
- Serving as a thought leader for the product area, staying current with innovations and competitive landscape
- Working with Product Marketing to articulate Okta's differentiation versus market alternatives
This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in a local office (Bellevue, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, or Washington DC). In-person orientation is required in either the San Francisco or Chicago office.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of product management experience, preferably in Enterprise SaaS or IaaS
- Demonstrated ability to develop phased roadmaps for complex or abstract projects and execute them to deliver products customers love
- Customer-obsessed mindset with owner mentality; drive toward outcomes with curiosity and team spirit
- Bachelor's degree or MBA
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with Okta and how Okta technology works for Identity Governance and Access Management
- Direct experience or practical knowledge of identity governance concepts such as access certifications, entitlement management, role-based access control (RBAC), and separation of duties; familiarity with standards like SCIM and SAML is a plus
- Familiarity with the competitive landscape in identity governance, especially offerings from SailPoint, Saviynt, Microsoft Entra ID Governance, and other IGA and PAM providers
