Oura is seeking a visionary VP of Global Tax to lead the tax organization through hyper-growth, public readiness, and digital transformation. This is a strategic leadership role reporting to the VP of Accounting and Finance, responsible for owning Oura's entire tax strategy, compliance, reporting, and planning across domestic and international jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include leading global tax strategy (income, indirect, transfer pricing, and reporting) and designing scalable tax structures to support international expansion and optimize effective tax rate. You will direct strategy and compliance for global indirect taxes including VAT, GST, sales tax, and digital services taxes. The role requires collaboration with Product, Supply Chain, Legal, FP&A, and Finance to evaluate tax impacts on new products, pricing, legal entities, and market launches. You will establish and maintain global transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and compliance documentation. Managing external global tax advisors, leading tax audit requests, technical accounting analyses, and auditor relations are core responsibilities. The role includes tracking emerging global tax laws to mitigate risk and presenting tax strategy, risk assessments, and reporting to executive leadership and the Audit Committee. As Oura scales toward public markets, you will champion tax transformation, driving modernization of the global tax technology stack. This includes owning the global tax provision process under US GAAP (ASC 740) and ensuring robust Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR/SOX 404) are designed, documented, and operating effectively from day one of being public. Additional responsibilities include structuring and managing international IP allocation and transfer pricing strategies, assessing tax implications of M&A and joint ventures, partnering with Treasury on cash repatriation strategies, and leading defense of all tax audits globally. Required qualifications: 20+ years of progressive tax leadership experience with at least 5 years in high-growth technology (SaaS + Hardware) environment and multinational organization. Big 4 public accounting experience is highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MST, JD, or CPA strongly preferred. Deep expertise in U.S. federal, state, and international tax reporting, including tax accounting under US GAAP and ASC 740. Demonstrated success leading teams and managing complex cross-border issues, audits, and external service advisor relationships.
