Helsing is a defense AI company on a mission to protect democracies through technological leadership. As Head of FP&A, you will be a critical senior finance leader building the financial function from first principles—designing global planning infrastructure, reporting architecture, capital models, and the financial narrative to guide the company through multi-billion-dollar growth phases.
You will serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO, CFO, and Executive Committee, producing models that drive capital allocation across both software and advanced manufacturing domains. The role operates at the intersection of high-growth tech finance and defense-contract economics, modeling cost-plus, time & materials, fixed-price, and government milestone billing structures.
Key responsibilities include owning global budgets, multi-year strategic plans, and rolling forecasts fully integrated across P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and capital plans. You will model financial outcomes for Helsing's advanced manufacturing footprints ("Resilience Factories") across Europe and the US, assessing factory ramp-up costs, supply chain dynamics, and capex vs. opex trade-offs. You'll design pricing, revenue recognition, and margin models accommodating various defense contract types under relevant local standards (German MoD, UK MoD, US GAAP).
You will build robust scenario analyses (bull/base/bear) stress-testing revenue, manufacturing output, supply chain resilience, contract win-rates, and geopolitical variables. Lead monthly financial review cycles delivering variance analysis and commercial insight. Build and own the capital allocation framework, evaluating ROI for hardware programs, R&D, factory expansions, and M&A targets. Support working capital optimization tied to long-term government payment cycles.
You will lead selection, design, and implementation of Helsing's global FP&A platform, connecting manufacturing ERPs and BI tools. Spearhead an AI-first approach to corporate finance, deploying AI agents and forecasting models to automate variance commentary and board reporting.
Ideal candidates have proven strong experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Corporate Finance with progressive leadership in high-growth, venture-backed, or recently listed technology/industrial environments. You should have experience blending high-level strategic thinking with operational rigor, working through major corporate events (capital markets transactions, IPO preparation, growth funding rounds), and ideally exposure to defense contracting, government billing, or manufacturing-scale finance.
