Adaptive Security is hiring a VP of Finance to lead the finance and accounting function at a rapidly scaling AI cybersecurity company. The company, founded by repeat entrepreneurs (Attentive, TapCommerce), has grown to over 1,500 customers in less than two years and recently closed an $81M Series B led by NVIDIA and Bain Capital Ventures.
In this role, you will report directly to the CEO and own all aspects of the finance organization. Strategic responsibilities include building the company operating model with revenue and expense forecasting, headcount planning, scenario analysis, and burn/runway management. You will lead financial planning, monthly variance analysis, and SaaS metrics reporting (ARR, NRR, CAC payback, Magic Number). You'll produce board and investor reporting, support fundraising and diligence processes end-to-end, and partner with GTM leadership on pricing, deal structures, and commission plans.
On the operations side, you will oversee accounting and monthly close, GL policy, and revenue recognition. You'll own billing, collections, A/R, treasury, and working-capital management across multiple entities and currencies (US, UK, Australia). You'll manage payroll and equity operations, including commissions and bonus cycles, and lead the company to GAAP maturity and its first audit.
You will hire, develop, and lead the finance and accounting team, own finance systems and integrations, and drive automation and AI-assisted workflows.
Ideal candidates have 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally with early-career exposure to investment banking, VC, or private equity, followed by senior leadership roles in strategic finance or FP&A at high-growth SaaS or AI companies. You should have experience supporting capital raises end-to-end, building or professionalizing finance functions, strong command of both FP&A and accounting operations, solid knowledge of US GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606), experience with outside accountants and auditors, and multi-entity/multi-currency operations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced startup environment are essential.
The role is based in NYC and requires onsite work five days per week. You'll have direct exposure to the CEO and founding executives, access to best-in-class AI tools, and the opportunity to build the finance function and team from day one.
