Salary: USD 210,000 - 250,000 / annual
Somatus is a leading outcomes-driven care provider serving individuals and communities with chronic conditions. The VP of Clinical Performance reports to the Chief Medical Officer and provides physician clinical leadership to advance enterprise-wide efforts to improve value—clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience, access, and cost—across the organization's patient population.
Key responsibilities include: directing clinical operations strategy in partnership with the SVP of Clinical Operations; developing and deploying systematic approaches to total cost of care (TCOC) improvement across markets and geographies; providing physician leadership for value-based care performance including multi-payor TCOC management, clinical quality outcomes, patient safety, and NCQA HEDIS quality metrics; analyzing healthcare payor claims data ($PMPM, Unit/1000, $/Unit metrics) to identify opportunities for cost and quality improvement; serving as clinical subject matter expert for program and training teams; assessing appropriate utilization and reducing avoidable acute care utilization; conducting quality improvement and outcomes studies; engaging with physician leaders at payor and provider partners to operationalize collaboration opportunities; leading the enterprise patient safety program; monitoring member satisfaction and working with quality teams to optimize patient experience; supporting provider contracting and medical aspects of contracts; maintaining knowledge of emerging value-based care technologies and capabilities; understanding patient stratification and continuous member evaluation; presenting to executive leadership; representing Somatus at medical conferences; and leading, attracting, and managing top clinical talent.
Required qualifications: M.D. from accredited medical school; 3–5 years clinical practice experience; 3–5 years value-based care experience; demonstrated track record driving process, quality, and cost outcomes while improving patient care and satisfaction; leadership experience managing people, programs, and resources. Preferred: MBA or Master's degree in healthcare or related field; 3+ years clinical performance and value-based care leadership; board certification in internal medicine, nephrology, or family medicine.
