Salary: USD 163,300 - 236,800 / annual
Moody's Ratings is seeking a VP of AI and Technology Risk Management to lead the second line of defense risk function for digital economy, AI, blockchain, and emerging technology initiatives. This is a senior leadership role reporting into the Risk Management organization, responsible for establishing risk governance, oversight, and challenge across AI/ML implementations, DeFi, blockchain, and technology-driven transformation programs.
Key responsibilities include: developing and communicating risk appetite frameworks for digital and AI-driven initiatives; providing independent review and credible challenge of the Digital Economy risk profile; representing second line risk at governance committees; challenging first line RCSAs (Risk and Control Self-Assessments) for quality and adherence to standards; monitoring emerging risks and ensuring timely identification and reporting; overseeing GRC tool usage; and acting as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders.
You will lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across a global, highly regulated environment. The role requires deep expertise in AI model lifecycle governance (validation, transparency, explainability), technology governance frameworks (NIST, COBIT, ORX, ISO 27001), and practical experience with blockchain and DeFi operational risk. You must balance diverse stakeholder needs, influence enterprise-wide, and maintain strong relationships between business and technical teams.
Required qualifications: 10+ years in risk management across digital economy, AI/ML, and blockchain with focus on technology governance and financial services compliance; hands-on experience developing AI/GenAI applications; deep expertise in AI model governance and risk appetite assessment; broad technology experience at scale in regulated environments; proven ability to lead large-scale initiatives with diverse, global teams; bachelor's degree in technology discipline (Computer Science, Information Management, Cyber Security, or equivalent); relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred; working knowledge of risk management frameworks.
