Overview.ai is deploying AI computer vision systems on manufacturing production lines to solve inspection problems that traditional machine vision cannot address. The company operates a full-stack platform: GPU-powered edge cameras, on-device inference, and a cloud platform managing large fleets of deployed devices globally.
You will own a sales territory in the Northeast US, responsible for opening new inspection points and new customer logos, then expanding initial wins into multi-line and multi-site rollouts. This is not a cold-start role—the company already has major customers, executive buy-in, and live production deployments. Your job is to scale that motion into new regions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Territory ownership: Own pipeline, forecast, and revenue from BDR-sourced and inbound opportunities through close, with credit across all sites in your accounts.
- Technical discovery: Conduct high-signal discovery with Quality, Process, Automation, and Operations teams to identify real inspection problems and where incumbent solutions fail.
- Hands-on demos and evaluations: Build recipes, demonstrate on real parts, and own POCs end-to-end—from securing line access and defining acceptance criteria to delivering readouts that convert.
- Drive urgency and close deals: Hit milestones, unblock integration issues early, and prevent deal drift.
- Expansion: Scale first-station wins into repeatable rollouts across lines, plants, and inspection points.
- Field presence: Spend 60–80% of time in factories across your territory.
The role appeals to candidates who win on technical advantages they can demonstrate, not slick talk. You'll receive dedicated applications and engineering escalation support and a proven evaluation playbook. Clear advancement paths exist: Strategic Accounts, Regional Lead, player-coach, and GM-style territory ownership as the company scales.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You have personally deployed, commissioned, or debugged automation, vision, or industrial hardware on a production floor.
- You can pick up a new technical product from documentation and put it to work quickly.
- You explain technical concepts plainly to plant and quality engineers and say "I don't know" instead of guessing.
- You have owned a number, earned commission, or driven a deal or expansion you can speak to with specifics. If more technical, you have factory floor experience and know how to engage technical customers or stakeholders.
- You do homework and ask the right questions before pitching.
- You live in or will relocate to your territory and are energized by 60–80% travel.
STRONG PREFERENCES:
- Machine vision experience with Keyence, Cognex, or AI inspection vendors.
- Manufacturing floor time in automotive, aerospace, or electronics.
- PLC, controls, or automation background.
- Startup or new-territory sales experience.
