Salary: USD 153,000 - 269,000 / annual

Figma is seeking a Video Strategist to build and lead the company's video function within Brand Marketing. This is a strategic leadership role that combines creative vision with operational execution. Key Responsibilities: - Define video strategy across brand, social, editorial, product launches, community, and events, establishing the format architecture and prioritization framework for what gets produced - Create and manage a portfolio of recurring video franchises designed to build audience over time, alongside campaign and launch work; own the development pipeline for new formats and decisions to renew, evolve, or retire series - Build the production engine by determining what is produced in-house versus through agencies, directors, or creators; own the video budget, vendor relationships, and establish standards for briefing, review, rights management, and asset reuse - Set and maintain quality standards for all video under the Figma brand; write and approve briefs, run creative reviews, and enable cross-functional teams to produce video with guardrails and coaching - Partner with Brand Marketing Technologist to define success metrics for each format and franchise, instrument measurement, and report findings to inform future production decisions - Lead, hire, and develop the video team and external production partners; make the case for necessary resourcing to execute the strategy You will sit within Brand Marketing and partner closely with design, creative, comms, product marketing, community, and advocacy to translate complex product and customer stories into compelling video content. Requirements: - 10+ years of experience across video, brand storytelling, editorial, content strategy, or production leadership, including several years leading a video function or team - Proven track record creating and running recurring video franchises that sustained beyond a single season and grew audience - End-to-end production model ownership: experience making the in-house versus agency versus creator decision, managing real budgets, and maintaining partner relationships - People leadership experience: hiring, developing, and providing feedback to producers, editors, or external production partners - Fluency across the format spectrum (social-first short-form, long-form storytelling, launch films, customer narratives) with clear perspective on each format's strengths - Ability to set creative standards for work made by people outside your direct reports without becoming a bottleneck - Comfort as the video voice in senior stakeholder conversations, with judgment to disagree productively and measurement literacy to defend decisions Preferred Qualifications: - Hands-on editing or motion graphics ability - Experience with live event and conference content at scale - Familiarity with music licensing, talent releases, and usage rights at volume - Experience building creator and influencer partnerships - Experience scaling video within a rapidly growing company or during brand evolution
