Aalo Atomics is pioneering factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. The company is based in Austin, TX and is rapidly growing as it works to deploy the world's first fleet of advanced microreactors.
As Vice President of Utility Partnerships, you will lead engagement with electric utilities, municipal utilities, electric cooperatives, public power organizations, and other strategic energy partners as Aalo deploys next-generation advanced nuclear technology. This executive-level role reports to senior leadership and is responsible for developing and expanding relationships across the utility sector, identifying deployment opportunities, and creating partnerships that support commercialization of Aalo's microreactor fleet.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute Aalo's utility partnership strategy across investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, electric cooperatives, public power agencies, and generation/transmission organizations
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with utility executives, resource planning leaders, generation executives, and boards of directors
- Identify and advance opportunities for future deployment of Aalo microreactors and advanced nuclear energy systems
- Establish strategic partnerships, memorandums of understanding, and commercial frameworks with utilities exploring advanced nuclear generation
- Collaborate with utilities to evaluate potential sites and deployment opportunities, including retiring fossil generation facilities and new development sites
- Support utility customers as they evaluate advanced nuclear technologies within long-term resource planning and clean energy strategies
- Develop commercial value propositions that align Aalo's technology with utility objectives related to reliability, resilience, affordability, energy security, and carbon reduction
- Serve as Aalo's primary interface with utility associations, public power organizations, cooperative organizations, and industry stakeholders
- Monitor utility planning activities, generation trends, market developments, and emerging opportunities for advanced nuclear deployment
- Represent Aalo Atomics at utility conferences, industry meetings, public power events, and executive forums
- Work closely with internal development, engineering, and executive teams to align partnership opportunities with deployment priorities
- Help build and maintain a robust pipeline of utility-supported projects that will accelerate commercialization of Aalo's technology
Success will be measured by establishing Aalo as a trusted strategic partner to utilities, developing and maintaining executive-level relationships across the industry, creating a robust pipeline of utility-supported deployment opportunities, securing strategic partnership agreements, positioning Aalo's microreactor technology within utility long-term planning efforts, and accelerating commercialization and deployment of advanced nuclear energy across North America.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred: 15+ years of experience in electric utility, power generation, energy infrastructure, or energy development sectors; demonstrated success building strategic relationships and partnerships within the utility industry; direct experience working with investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, electric cooperatives, public power agencies, or generation and transmission organizations; strong understanding of utility resource planning, generation portfolios, capacity needs, and long-term infrastructure investment decisions; experience in power generation including familiarity with baseload generation technologies such as nuclear, natural gas, coal, hydroelectric, or other dispatchable resources; understanding of advanced nuclear technologies including small modular reactors (SMRs), microreactors, or the evolving role of nuclear energy in meeting future power demand; proven ability to engage and influence senior utility executives, elected boards, and key industry stakeholders; experience negotiating strategic partnerships, commercial agreements, or long-term energy development initiatives; exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills; strong strategic thinking and business development capabilities; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Systems, Economics, Public Policy, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Required: Based in the United States; willing to work on-site in Austin, Texas or remote; ability to travel up to 50% for utility meetings, executive engagement, conferences, and site visits; U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810; may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships.
