One Inc. is a fintech/insurtech platform processing over $120 billion in annual payments volume across premium payments, claims payments, and policyholder experiences. The company is evolving its product organization to be more design-led and seeks a Vice President of Product Design to own the design vision, standards, and team.
In this role, you will lead a design organization of approximately 6+ product designers (UX, UI, design systems, research) and scale it appropriately for a Tier 1 fintech/insurtech SaaS company. You will own the end-to-end customer journey across the product portfolio, including consumer-facing experiences like XpressOne and enterprise-facing carrier/agent interfaces. Your primary accountability is reducing friction in policyholder and carrier-facing experiences while translating design decisions into measurable business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include: establishing and maintaining a design system and pattern library that drives consistency and speed across product squads; partnering with Product and Engineering leadership to embed design earlier in the development lifecycle; representing design at the executive level to influence roadmap and prioritization with business cases; building design operating rhythms (critiques, research cadence, design reviews) that scale with organizational growth; and bringing external perspective and industry best practices to a team that has largely grown internally.
You will need 10+ years in product design with 5+ years in a design leadership role managing a team and portfolio. Demonstrated business fluency is essential—the ability to connect design decisions to revenue, retention, or operational outcomes and communicate that value to non-design executives. Experience in fintech, insurtech, or another high-trust, high-compliance B2B2C environment is strongly preferred. You should have a track record building or scaling a design function, including design systems and design ops, and ideally have owned a customer journey end-to-end across both consumer and enterprise audiences. A strong point of view balanced with a collaborative style is critical—you must be able to drive decisions without being prescriptive to the point of stalling teams.
