Apex manufactures satellite buses (spacecraft platforms) at scale for the commercial space industry, combining software, vertical integration, and hardware-optimized manufacturing. The company has raised over $500M in funding and is scaling rapidly as launch costs decrease and demand for commercial spacecraft platforms grows. The Vice President of Supply Chain will lead the strategy, execution, and scaling of Apex's end-to-end supply chain organization. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, responsible for building and managing a large supply chain organization across purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier quality, materials planning, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics. Key responsibilities include: developing long-term supply chain strategy to support manufacturing scale and new product introduction; building high-performing teams and operational processes; establishing KPIs and planning systems; leading strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations; driving supplier quality and continuous improvement; overseeing materials planning and demand forecasting; developing scalable logistics strategies; identifying and mitigating supply chain risks; and partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance teams. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership in complex manufacturing, with 4+ years at Director or VP level managing organizations of 40+ employees. Required experience includes purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier quality, materials planning, inventory management, and logistics. Strong background in global supplier negotiations and complex hardware supply chains is essential. ERP/MRP systems, supply chain planning, forecasting, and analytics expertise required. Preferred qualifications include aerospace, satellite, defense, automotive, or aviation industry experience; vertically integrated manufacturing background; experience scaling from prototype to high-volume production; familiarity with export control regulations and government contracting; and passion for building world-class manufacturing organizations. U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled data. Bachelor's degree required (MBA or advanced technical degree preferred).
