Rocket Lab is seeking a Manager of Inventory and Logistics to lead operations at its Middle River, MD facility. This hands-on leadership role oversees a team responsible for inventory controls, expediting, receiving, storage, picking, packing, and local dispatch across east coast operations. Key responsibilities include directing a team managing inventory, material handling, and shipping/receiving across multiple east coast sites; maintaining inventory controls and perpetual inventory reporting; ensuring on-time delivery of materials to production; implementing systems and processes for bar-coding and bin location management; managing inventory planning and kitting to deliver materials line-side to production cells; ensuring inventory accuracy and cycle counts meet Finance requirements; overseeing shipping and receiving processes supporting procure-to-pay workflows; and conducting receiving inspection to verify parts meet specifications. The role requires 8+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree (or 12+ years equivalent work experience) and 5+ years of leadership experience in supply chain. Candidates must demonstrate proven ability to manage inventory teams and implement systems/tools for material management. Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statistics is essential. The position requires up to 25% travel to multiple east coast sites. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, team orientation with ability to multitask in fast-paced environments, experience in aerospace/automotive/heavy manufacturing, ERP system expertise, and prior experience in high-growth environments. The role involves prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work, with occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
