GrayMatter Robotics, a well-capitalized Physical AI company headquartered in Los Angeles, is seeking a Research Administrator to join its Government Projects team in Carson, CA. The role focuses on government contracting, proposal management, grant administration, and compliance oversight for the company's defense and aerospace contracts.
Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR, DFARS) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements; preparing and submitting government proposals with full adherence to submission requirements; managing financial and technical reporting obligations for awarded contracts and research grants; developing and maintaining financial models for budget forecasting and contract execution; tracking research expenditures and ensuring proper allocation of grant funds; maintaining documentation for audits and compliance reviews; providing administrative support for contract modifications, renewals, and amendments; and collaborating with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless contract and grant execution.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field, with 5+ years of experience in government contracting, compliance, research administration, or financial administration. Required expertise includes government proposal preparation, grant compliance, reporting requirements, government accounting standards, and financial management. Preferred qualifications include DCAA-compliant accounting system experience, SBIR/STTR grant compliance knowledge, understanding of government contract pricing structures, strong FAR/DFARS knowledge, and prior startup or technology-driven environment experience.
This is an onsite role in Carson, CA. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, refugee, or asylee status is required to comply with export control regulations. The role demands expert-level attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective cross-team communication, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
