Salary: USD 275,000 - 350,000 / annual
Temporal is a high-growth, private, consumption-based software company seeking a Vice President, Global Corporate Controller to build and lead accounting, tax, treasury, and procurement functions. This is a hands-on financial leadership role reporting to the CFO, owning the full accounting and operating infrastructure of a scaling business.
Key responsibilities include: leading all aspects of global accounting operations (monthly/quarterly close, consolidations, technical accounting for consumption revenue under ASC 606, financial reporting); developing and executing corporate tax strategy including domestic and international tax planning, transfer pricing, and indirect tax compliance; building and managing treasury operations across multiple currencies and entities; owning global procurement and vendor management including source-to-pay processes and spend controls; designing and scaling accounting infrastructure and systems (ERP, billing, close automation) to support consumption-based revenue growth; establishing a strong internal control environment (SOX-ready) in anticipation of future public offering or transaction; leading annual financial statement audits and managing relationships with external advisors; guiding international expansion from finance and accounting perspective including entity structuring and local compliance; partnering with CFO and cross-functional leaders on deal structuring and revenue recognition; and building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing global accounting and tax team.
Required qualifications: 12+ years progressive accounting/finance experience in high-growth SaaS or consumption-based software companies (both private and public); CPA required with Big 4 public accounting background strongly preferred; deep expertise in US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition; proven experience building or scaling tax and treasury functions including international and multi-entity operations; track record scaling accounting infrastructure and teams through rapid growth and international expansion; experience preparing organizations for IPO strongly preferred; experience with procurement/vendor management and contract negotiation; strong systems acumen (NetSuite, Workday, or similar ERP); excellent communication and executive presence; Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (MBA a plus).
