Salary: USD 250,000 - 310,000 / annual
Frontier Medicines is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a strategic finance partner to the CFO and executive leadership team. This is a comprehensive finance leadership role combining strong FP&A expertise with deep technical accounting and SEC reporting fluency.
Key Responsibilities:
SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting: Own SEC reporting readiness and capital markets workstreams, leveraging prior experience with registration statements, periodic reporting (10-K/10-Q), and public company financial operations. Serve as senior technical accounting resource, researching and documenting positions on complex accounting matters including revenue recognition, equity accounting, and lease accounting. Lead SOX 404(a)/(b) readiness planning and controls design, partnering with the Controller to build the control environment ahead of public company requirements. Build investor-facing financial materials, messaging, and disclosure language in coordination with the CFO. Support capital markets transactions (equity/debt offerings, registration statements) including coordination with underwriters, auditors, and outside counsel.
FP&A & Business Partnership: Lead annual budgeting, long-range planning, monthly forecasting, and variance analysis across all departments with strong financial modeling capabilities. Serve as strategic financial business partner to R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Medical, and G&A leaders, translating program and headcount plans into financial models. Build and maintain financial models supporting capital planning, cash runway analysis, and scenario planning for the Board and investors. Lead clinical trial and R&D accrual forecasting in partnership with the Controller and Clinical Development teams. Partner with the CFO on Board presentations, investor materials, and strategic planning. Drive finance systems and process improvements to scale the organization. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and special project support.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA strongly preferred. 15+ years progressive finance experience with dual fluency in FP&A/financial modeling and hands-on technical accounting/SEC reporting. Direct experience with SEC reporting cycles, registration statements, and public company financial operations. Big Four public accounting background strongly preferred, ideally followed by biotech/life sciences industry experience scaling through significant growth phases. Experience with capital markets transactions and working with underwriters, external auditors, and outside counsel strongly preferred. Clinical trial accounting and biotech/therapeutics industry experience preferred. Excellent communication skills translating financial detail into clear executive guidance.
