Re:Build Manufacturing is revitalizing America's manufacturing base by operating an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to scale products in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy, and robotics.
As Vice President of Engines Thesis, you will report directly to the CEO and lead the strategic development and operational execution of Re:Build's entry into the rapidly growing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) engine market. This is a greenfield opportunity to build a new business unit from the ground up, addressing a significant domestic supply gap in affordable, quality UAV engines.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop a comprehensive 5-year strategic plan for the Engines Thesis, defining end-state vision and sustainable growth roadmap
• Define required technology and manufacturing capabilities for dual-use UAV engine markets, determining vertical integration scope
• Evaluate military and commercial UAV opportunities and adjacent markets to maximize value capture
• Drive R&D investment decisions in propulsion technologies, materials science, automation, and innovative manufacturing
• Lead acquisition evaluation and integration planning, assessing capabilities, customer relationships, and feasibility
• Analyze global supply chain risks and develop contingency and alternative sourcing strategies
• Develop budgets, financial plans, and performance metrics with regular CEO and Board updates
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary, high-performing team across geographically dispersed operations
• Partner with the Chief Commercial Officer on commercial strategy, government relations, and business development
• Leverage Re:Build's Member Company capabilities to accelerate development and manufacturing
• Present strategic cases and updates to CEO, Board, and stakeholders
You bring 15+ years of progressive leadership in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or propulsion systems. Deep knowledge of UAV technology, engine systems (internal combustion or hybrid), manufacturing processes, supply chains, and regulatory environments is highly desirable. You have demonstrated P&L responsibility, strong financial modeling skills, and proven success developing complex technology business opportunities. An advanced degree (MBA or MS Engineering) is strongly preferred. You thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments, turn ambiguity into action, and excel at influencing diverse stakeholders.
