SPHERE Technology Solutions seeks a Varonis Specialist to own and manage the Varonis data security and identity monitoring platform for client engagements. This role serves as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders, ensuring the platform is properly monitored, maintained, and reported on in accordance with security and risk management practices.
Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining Varonis DatAdvantage and DatAlert; performing user provisioning and deprovisioning; conducting in-depth analysis of client environments to identify technical, financial, and reputational risks related to identity and access management; and developing remediation plans that mitigate risk while maintaining controlled change management. You will present risk reduction strategies and findings to client CSOs, IAM leadership, and infrastructure teams, and lead remediation initiatives across cross-functional teams.
Additional duties include providing training on the SPHEREboard platform, assessing client workflows to establish sustainable IAM environments aligned with industry standards, documenting remediations and maintaining audit-ready records, and preparing stakeholders for audit reviews. You will track platform changes in Jira, maintain documentation in Confluence, and collaborate with SPHERE's internal product team on enhancements.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience); hands-on Varonis admin experience; proficiency with IAM platforms and tools such as ServiceNow, CyberArk, Delinea, BeyondTrust, and SailPoint; strong data analysis and reporting skills with advanced MS Excel and SQL proficiency; in-depth understanding of Active Directory, CIFS file systems, Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and SQL; and excellent critical thinking and communication abilities. Must be willing to work outside standard business hours and travel to client locations in the NYC/Northern New Jersey area as needed. Reports to SPHERE's Newark office three days per week or works onsite at client locations depending on business needs.
