Arc is electrifying the marine industry by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. The company has proven technology, is scaling production of its flagship consumer model, and is now extending its platform to commercial applications (tugs, ferries, defense) with signed contracts and a robust pipeline.
We're seeking a UX/UI Designer to own the full digital product experience across Arc's ecosystem: the mobile app for boat owners, touchscreens in Arc Sport (consumer) and Tug (commercial) vessels, and the marketing website. This is a self-starter role requiring both high-level UX strategy and pixel-perfect UI execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end design across all platforms: wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready UI assets
- Designing interfaces for recreational boat control, commercial vessel subsystems, and customer service experiences
- Creating a compelling premium brand website
- Building and maintaining a design system that scales across consumer and commercial products
- Partnering with product and engineering to define requirements, prototype, and iterate based on technical constraints and user feedback
- Conducting user research and usability testing
- Iterating rapidly in both digital tools and real-world contexts
Minimum qualifications: 5+ years in UX/UI design for complex digital products (mobile, web, or embedded systems); demonstrated ability to function as a product designer who understands business logic and engineering trade-offs; proven track record of setting product vision through design informed by qualitative and quantitative research; fluency with modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite) and AI tools; comfort in fast-paced environments; strong communication skills.
Bonus qualifications include experience growing design teams and building design organizations (this role has potential to expand), background with premium consumer/technology/automotive brands, and front-end development knowledge (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
