Turnitin is seeking an experienced UX Writer to join its remote-first team. You will be responsible for creating clear, user-centered product content and contributing to content decisions across the end-to-end product development process. Working closely with product managers, designers, researchers, and engineering partners, you will write, review, and refine product content across the user experience—from interface copy and onboarding to product guidance and release notes.
In this role, you will apply UX writing principles, style guidance, accessibility considerations, and user research to make complex educational experiences clearer, more consistent, and easier to use. You'll collaborate with the cross-functional UX team on a daily basis, balancing multiple project work tracks across different product surfaces. You will explain the reasoning behind content choices to stakeholders, manage feedback loops constructively, and use Jira to track and deliver work within a structured sprint process.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in English, Writing, Technical Communication, HCI, UX Design, Linguistics, Communications, Education, or related field (or equivalent practical experience), plus 2–7 years of industry experience in UX writing, technical writing, or related fields. You must have proven experience writing user-centered product content, strong writing fundamentals, and demonstrated ability to transform data-driven insights into actionable content recommendations. Experience with Jira and Agile methodology is essential, and you should have a strong writing portfolio demonstrating multiple approaches and tangible impact.
Desirable qualifications include experience with CMSs like Zendesk, writing for AI-powered products, and outstanding interpersonal skills for building relationships across cross-functional teams.
