Turnitin is seeking an experienced UX Writer to join its remote-first team. You will be responsible for creating clear, user-centered product content and contributing to content decisions across the end-to-end product development process. Working closely with designers, product managers, researchers, and other stakeholders, you will write, review, and refine product content across the user experience—from interface copy and onboarding to product guidance and release notes.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include writing clear, concise UX copy for product experiences (UI text, error messages, onboarding), creating and improving user guidance materials, collaborating with UX Designers and Product Managers throughout the design process, and applying UX writing principles, style guidance, accessibility considerations, and user research to your content decisions. You will explain the reasoning behind content choices to stakeholders, manage project-level feedback loops, and use Jira to track and deliver work within a structured sprint process.
You must have a Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, Technical Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Linguistics, Communications, Education, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). You need 2–7 years of industry experience in UX writing, technical writing, or related fields such as education, communications, or product management. Proven experience writing user-centered product content, strong writing fundamentals, and the ability to balance multiple project work tracks are essential. You should be comfortable transforming data-driven insights into actionable content recommendations, working confidently with multiple stakeholders, and using project tracking tools like Jira in an Agile environment. A strong writing portfolio demonstrating multiple methods and approaches with tangible outcomes is required.
Desirable qualifications include experience with CMSs such as Zendesk, creating structured content using HTML markup, writing for AI-powered products, and a proven track record of collaborating effectively in diverse team environments.
