Turnitin is seeking an experienced UX Writer to join its remote-first team. The role focuses on creating clear, user-centered product content and contributing to content decisions throughout the product development lifecycle. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and UX researchers to craft compelling copy that makes complex educational technology experiences more intuitive and accessible.
Key responsibilities include writing concise UX copy for product interfaces (UI text, error messages, onboarding flows), creating and improving user guidance and release notes, and applying UX writing principles alongside accessibility considerations. You'll work within a structured sprint process using Jira, manage stakeholder feedback loops, and explain content decisions to cross-functional teams. The role requires balancing multiple project tracks and transforming data-driven insights into actionable content recommendations that influence product strategy.

The ideal candidate has 2–7 years of industry experience in UX writing, technical writing, communications, or product management. A bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, HCI, UX Design, Linguistics, Communications, or Education is essential, or equivalent practical experience. You must demonstrate strong writing fundamentals, experience with Agile/Jira workflows, and a portfolio showcasing multiple writing approaches with measurable impact. Experience with CMSs (Zendesk), HTML markup, and AI-powered products is desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams are critical.
