Oscar Health is building a centralized Insights and Analytics function within its Technology organization to shape how the company learns, decides, and builds. As a User Experience Researcher, you will independently lead research studies across Oscar's multi-sided healthcare ecosystem, including consumers, members, brokers, providers, and internal users. You will own end-to-end research projects, from scoping and study design through recruiting, moderation, analysis, synthesis, and stakeholder shareout. Your work will span qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods to clarify ambiguous problems, de-risk product decisions, and inform strategy. You'll translate complex business and product questions into rigorous research plans, then distill findings into actionable recommendations that help teams decide what to build, improve, prioritize, or stop doing. Key responsibilities include partnering closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Strategy, Operations, Clinical, and Insurance Product teams to ground decisions in human insight and lived experience. You'll strengthen Oscar's research operations by improving intake, planning, recruiting, compliance, repositories, and vendor workflows. You'll also thoughtfully leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate research planning and analysis while maintaining rigor, privacy, and human judgment. This role is ideal for a researcher comfortable in early-stage or ambiguous spaces who can identify behavioral dynamics underneath business questions and determine what evidence will meaningfully move teams forward. You'll help mature Oscar's research practice by introducing useful methods, tools, and documentation patterns, and mentor junior researchers where appropriate. The role requires 4+ years of hands-on user research, product research, or design research experience, with demonstrated ability to independently lead complex studies with cross-functional stakeholders. You should be skilled at collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing human behavioral data; applying both qualitative and quantitative methods; and communicating findings through compelling artifacts and presentations. Experience in healthcare, health insurance, or regulated industries is a strong plus.
