With 75+ million customers and 13,000+ employees worldwide, the company is experiencing rapid growth and building a financial super app. The Credit Department at Revolut designs, develops, and launches credit products globally, managing everything from back-end and front-end development to data science infrastructure and localized risk management solutions. As an Underwriter (Retail), you'll play a critical role in the credit decision process by reviewing customer credit applications that require manual assessment beyond automated systems. You'll evaluate applicants' creditworthiness and identify risks through affordability assessments and credit file reviews aligned with Revolut's lending criteria. Key responsibilities include reviewing customer documentation for accuracy and authenticity, identifying potentially fraudulent applications and escalating them appropriately, and communicating with customers to request or provide credit-related information. You'll make final decisions on whether to approve applicants for credit and assess overdue, forborne, or non-performing loans that don't pass automated decision-making. You'll also consult with internal operations teams on lending, forbearance, and collections matters. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field, with hands-on experience underwriting unsecured personal loans and/or credit cards. You'll need strong knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, excellent analytical and numeracy skills, meticulous attention to detail in documentation review, and the ability to work within strict deadlines and SLAs. A solid understanding of lending products and practices, combined with excellent communication and customer service experience, is essential.
