Salary: USD 149,000 - 188,000 / annual

Lab37 Robotics is a technology company developing and deploying robots for direct-to-customer food production. We're revolutionizing the food industry through innovative robotic solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. You'll focus on designing our internal tools ecosystem for kitchen operations, including inventory tracking, recipe development, learning management systems, manager dashboards, performance metrics, robot user interfaces, and task scheduling. Your work will translate complex user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into intuitive, high-quality, scalable design solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Design and refine user interfaces for on-robot displays, customer-facing applications, culinary brands, and internal operational tools - Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research (interviews, usability testing) to gather insights and validate design concepts - Produce high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, user flows, and specifications that communicate design rationale to engineering teams - Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and users throughout the design lifecycle - Explore and implement AI-powered solutions for customers and internal design tools - Contribute to and maintain the design system, ensuring consistency across products You'll drive the design process from concept through launch, balancing user satisfaction, product performance, and engineering feasibility. Prototyping, testing, and iterating are core to how we work. You'll build across multiple platforms and devices. We're looking for someone with 4+ years of UI/UX design experience, proficiency in Figma, strong typography and layout fundamentals, and experience across various platforms. You should be comfortable in a startup/build environment, have full-stack design skills (interaction, visual, systems thinking), and a proven track record of building products from the ground up. A passion for food and helping restaurateurs succeed is valued. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Pittsburgh with five days per week onsite. The base salary range is $149,000–$188,000 per year, with actual compensation determined individually based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
