Salary: USD 230,000 - 300,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking a Director of Investments & Liquidity to lead its Treasury team during a period of exponential growth. This is a foundational leadership role responsible for capital allocation strategy, financial asset protection, and infrastructure development to support global operations.
Key responsibilities include owning Anthropic's external investment program (money market funds, bank deposits, separately managed accounts), monitoring external manager performance, and designing an in-house investment program with direct fixed income trading capability. You will develop and operationalize a comprehensive capital planning framework across operating and strategic liquidity tiers, design and maintain the investment policy statement and Treasury policies with SOX-ready controls, and build CFO-ready management reporting on portfolio performance, policy compliance, and risk exposures.
A significant component of this role involves building AI-native investment workflows—applying AI tools to portfolio analytics, manager and counterparty monitoring, IPS compliance, interest income forecasting, and executive reporting. You will partner closely with Finance, Engineering, Data, and FinSys teams to implement these workflows with proper controls, documentation, and auditability.
You will report to the Head of Investments & Markets and collaborate across Finance, Legal, and Accounting teams. The role requires deep expertise in corporate cash investment strategy, hands-on experience with separately managed accounts and investment policy design, and demonstrated operational readiness managing large, time-sensitive cash movements. Experience with in-house trading infrastructure, Treasury policy development, and SOX compliance is essential. Preferred qualifications include 10+ years in Treasury or corporate finance, high-growth tech environment experience, and familiarity with the Investment Company Act of 1940.
