The Treasury Accountant will oversee the company's treasury operations with a specialized focus on foreign exchange (FX) management. This role is critical for optimizing cash flow, managing currency risks, and ensuring efficient FX operations. The position reports to the Financial Controller and requires a minimum of 5 years of treasury management experience with strong FX expertise.
Key responsibilities include negotiating and executing profitable FX trades, tracking and reconciling FX gains and losses, monitoring exchange rate fluctuations and their impact on operations, and managing intercompany FX settlements. The role involves maintaining proper documentation for FX and treasury transactions, building strong relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure favorable rates, and analyzing cash flow trends, bank fees, and treasury KPIs.
Additional duties include ensuring timely and accurate reporting of FX activities and regulatory compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), monitoring and executing cross-border payments with competitive pricing, collaborating with senior leadership on financial market insights and FX risk management, and supporting cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and treasury system improvements.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field; advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting software; strong quantitative and analytical abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and high attention to detail. FX trading platform experience is highly desirable. Candidates must have completed mandatory NYSC (National Youth Service Corps).
