Salary: CHF 150,500 - 279,500 / annual
DTX Pharma (a Novartis Company) seeks a Translational Medicine Expert (TME) in Dermatology to lead clinical strategy and scientific expertise across early and late-stage drug development programs. This Director-level role combines individual scientific leadership with team management responsibilities across multiple therapeutic areas.
Key responsibilities include:
Early-Stage Programs (Phase I/II): Develop and execute translational medicine strategies from research through Transition Decision Point (TDP) in dermatology indications, including post-indication expansion projects. Collaborate with dermatology therapeutic area teams to define clinical development pathways.
Late-Stage Programs (Phase II/III and Post-Approval): Lead profiling strategies for Phase 2-3 and post-approval studies. Represent translational medicine on Global Project Teams. Provide expertise on dose selection, study design, clinical pharmacology, special populations, drug-drug interactions, and mechanism of action assessments. Oversee pediatric investigational plans and regulatory submissions.
Translational Research: Partner with dermatology leadership, biomarker development, and clinical sciences teams to identify new indications and develop biomarker/endpoint strategies. Secure funding and evidence for indication expansion opportunities.
Business Development & Licensing: Serve as translational medicine representative on in-licensing and out-licensing teams, conducting scientific due diligence and assessments.
General Leadership: Lead study-specific and clinical trial teams. Oversee clinical monitoring and integrated safety data review. Represent translational medicine aspects to health authorities, payers, and patient advocacy groups. Develop and oversee publication strategy for translational medicine studies.
Required qualifications: MD with board certification in dermatology; preferably PhD in dermatology or immunology; minimum 5 years' experience in pharmaceutical/biotech, CRO, or academic medical center. Must be a recognized expert in field, fluent in English (oral and written), and demonstrate innovation in clinical discovery approaches.
