As Operations Lead for Trading & Banking at StashAway, you will own the execution quality of the firm's trading operations across multiple regions (Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, UAE, Thailand). Your primary responsibility is managing buy-side trade execution—deciding when and how to trade while the Investment Team decides what to trade. You will develop and oversee the firm's automated execution strategy, balancing client returns, trading costs, and order-fill efficiency. Key responsibilities include: Trade Execution Strategy: Own the automated trade execution approach, continuously monitoring execution quality and making judgment calls on when to continue or halt trading based on market conditions. Lead portfolio reoptimization efforts, acting as the firm's counterpart to broker trading desks and project-managing execution across elevated-volume windows. Execution Quality Analysis: Build and maintain an execution quality analysis capability covering cost-versus-benchmark measurement, slippage attribution, and fill-quality analytics. Use AI-assisted analysis of large trade and settlement datasets to identify real signals and drive evidence-based decisions. Establish and maintain the firm's best-execution framework and governance standards. Broker & Venue Management: Assess counterparty performance on execution quality and cost, steer routing and relationships based on evidence, and scan the market for new capabilities such as market maker solutions that expand trading capabilities. Banking Operations Partnership: Work with Banking Operations Team Leads on daily operations including transfer approvals and escalation handling. Drive process improvement and automation across banking operations workflows to reduce manual effort and single points of failure. Reporting: Provide regular execution quality reports to the CIO, Investment team, and senior management, surfacing cost and quality issues with recommended actions. You should have 5+ years in trading operations, execution, or brokerage, with at least 2 years of direct accountability for trade execution in live markets. Strong analytical skills with fluency in modern tools including AI-assisted analysis, SQL, and Python are essential. You must demonstrate sound judgment under competing objectives, strong grasp of trade execution strategy and best-execution principles, and ability to work systematically with Product and Engineering teams to implement execution-system improvements. Prior experience in trade settlement, cash operations, banking operations, or people management is a bonus.
