Cobre is Latin America's leading B2B instant payments platform, building advanced financial infrastructure to enable companies to move funds faster, securely, and efficiently. The company serves fintechs, payment service providers, banks, and financial teams with real-time payments, automated treasury, and seamless cross-border solutions.
We are seeking a highly analytical, results-oriented Senior Trader with deep expertise in money markets and the Mexican FX market, plus experience in digital assets, stablecoins, and product development. You will operate within regulatory frameworks and established risk limits while maximizing risk-adjusted returns for the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze FX market trends (USD/MXN focus), interest rates, and macro variables to support strategic decision-making
- Actively manage FX flows associated with Cobre's operations, ensuring alignment with profitability and risk control objectives
- Execute spot, forward, swap, and other authorized financial instruments
- Manage stablecoin liquidity and operations (USDT, USDC) across networks, including fiat-to-digital conversion flows (on/off-ramp)
- Monitor prices, spreads, and market depth across exchanges, crypto OTC desks, and liquidity providers to optimize execution costs
- Identify, measure, and control market, credit, liquidity, and counterparty risks, including digital asset-specific risks (custody, on-chain settlement, network risk)
- Apply exposure limits and alerts defined by Risk Management and the Board
- Maintain precise operational records with on-chain traceability where applicable and support audit processes
- Build proactive relationships with bank money desks, financial institutions, exchanges, and digital asset OTC desks
- Drive product development and define pricing strategies aligned with business objectives and customer expectations
- Leverage deep Mexican market knowledge to design and refine solutions that create real customer value
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Administration, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years in money desks, treasury, or trading
- Deep knowledge of Mexican FX market (USD/MXN), securities markets, and local financial instruments
- Proven experience trading FX in stablecoin markets: execution on exchanges and/or OTC desks, wallet management, on/off-ramp processes, on-chain settlement
- Familiarity with Mexican regulatory environment (Banxico, CNBV, Fintech Law) and virtual asset frameworks
- Advanced Bloomberg proficiency and digital asset market tools (exchange platforms, liquidity aggregators, blockchain explorers)
- Strong quantitative analysis, critical and strategic thinking, attention to detail, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration
