The Exploration Company is developing Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo transport and eventual human missions. As Thruster Technical Owner, you will own the complete technical lifecycle of assigned thruster assemblies supplied by external partners.
You will be responsible for the technical baseline including requirements, interfaces, verification methods, performance specifications, and qualification logic. This role demands maintaining a system-level view across fluidic, mechanical, thermal, electrical, command, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), fault detection/isolation/recovery (FDIR), safety, operations, and vehicle-design interfaces.
Key responsibilities include following the supplier development and qualification path, building direct technical relationships with manufacturing partners while maintaining independent technical judgment, reviewing supplier deliverables (analyses, drawings, procedures, test results), and making technical maturity and manufacturing readiness visible early. You will support assembly/integration/test (AIT/MAIT) preparation, integration activities, flight-data review, and anomaly investigation.
You will collaborate extensively with propulsion system engineering, GNC, avionics, vehicle design, program management, procurement, quality, supplier quality, test, safety, and operations teams. The role requires strong aerospace or propulsion engineering background with proven experience in spacecraft liquid propulsion hardware, ideally bipropellant thrusters, hot-fire testing, qualification, and acceptance testing. You must demonstrate ability to own technical supplier follow-up for critical components across the full lifecycle and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. System-engineering judgment across propulsion, avionics, quality, and operations interfaces is essential. English fluency required; French and/or German are valuable assets.
