Mirum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on rare diseases, is seeking a Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) for the Liver portfolio based in Houston, TX. This role combines strategic account management, clinical expertise, and consultative selling in the rare cholestatic liver disease space. The TAM will develop and execute a focused territory business plan aligned with regional priorities, identifying and prioritizing high-opportunity customers, accounts, and referral networks across pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology. You will create customized account plans reflecting local patient journeys, key stakeholders, clinical decision-making, and referral patterns. The role emphasizes building trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and care team members through consistent delivery of relevant value. Key responsibilities include developing deep clinical and account expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio; communicating complex scientific information clearly and credibly; engaging healthcare professionals as a peer through insightful questioning and active listening; and executing approved promotional programs with full adherence to regulatory requirements. You will help customers recognize gaps in disease awareness, patient identification, and treatment consideration by reframing issues and connecting insights across the patient journey. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training, Operations, and Analytics. You will capture and communicate timely field insights that inform strategy, messaging, and execution priorities. Success requires operating with high ownership and self-motivation in a rapidly evolving rare disease environment, maintaining sustained drive through uncertainty and obstacles, and demonstrating curiosity and coachability. Patient and caregiver impact is central to the role. You will keep patients at the center of territory decisions, support a customer experience grounded in trust and empathy, collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to help care teams navigate barriers, and identify recurring access and patient-support barriers for escalation and improvement. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred - 5+ years of progressive sales experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry - Demonstrated track record of consistently delivering business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets - Rare disease experience highly preferred; hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or complex specialty market experience highly desirable - Strong clinical aptitude with demonstrated ability to learn, retain, and communicate complex disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information - Experience with account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, and referral networks - Demonstrated ability to use insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively challenge status quo and influence behavior - Working knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and role of patient services in rare disease markets - Strong business acumen and ability to interpret performance data, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into field execution - Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, and judgment - Proven self-motivation, resourcefulness, resilience, organization, and ability to prioritize independently in fast-moving, ambiguous environment - Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, and Analytics - Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and approved promotional practices - Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend commitments
