Ent is an intent-aware workspace security platform protecting human and AI-driven work. Founded by the co-founders of RiskIQ (acquired by Microsoft) and the team behind Microsoft Security Copilot, the company is in production with Global 2000 customers across hospitality, financial services, and defense.
As Test Engineer, Features, you will own end-to-end quality for new features from conception through release. Your responsibilities include:
- Own end-to-end testing for new features, translating acceptance criteria into runnable coverage that gates releases.
- Review requirements before development to turn underspecified ones into concrete pass/fail coverage and surface untestable items early.
- Architect and maintain operator-facing end-to-end frameworks and fixtures, including real-browser suites that run in parallel and gate CI.
- Cover the full journey across the operator portal, backend platform, and endpoint agent, including APIs and contracts between them to catch upstream breaks before they reach users.
- Curate the team's automated and AI-generated test scenarios into trusted, runnable coverage.
- Report on test coverage, failures, and risk for features you own, then close identified gaps.
The role spans multiple layers: UI, service, integration, and API testing. You'll work in a distributed team environment with a customer-first, humble, and urgent culture focused on building durable security in the AI era.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in software test, SDET, or quality engineering with strong end-to-end and API coverage across UI, service, and integration layers.
- Demonstrated experience building a browser end-to-end framework from scratch and integrating it into CI, owning the framework itself, not just the tests.
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with Playwright (or equivalent such as Selenium) driving parallelized suites.
- API and contract testing experience (Pytest, OpenAPI-driven; Postman or similar a plus), with judgment to anticipate schema-drift risk.
- Proven record of turning ambiguous requirements into concrete, gating coverage.
- Sound judgment on the test pyramid—understanding where end-to-end coverage earns its cost and where cheaper, more stable layers are appropriate.
- Clear communication in distributed teams and ability to drive adoption of shared test tooling.
PREFERRED:
- Experience bringing AI- or LLM-generated test artifacts into a trusted workflow.
- Containerized test environments (Docker) and cloud familiarity (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- CI experience with GitHub Actions or comparable systems (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Virtualization and provisioning for test environments (Packer, QEMU/KVM, or VMware).
- Load and performance testing.
- Security or data-protection product background.
