PDI Technologies is seeking a Test Automation Engineer II to join their global team delivering cutting-edge technology solutions for convenience retail and petroleum brands. The company powers market-leading products like GasBuddy, enabling businesses to increase productivity, make informed decisions, and engage customers through loyalty programs and real-time market intelligence.
In this role, you will design and build scalable, fault-tolerant test automation systems for PDI's enterprise software solutions. You'll work within an agile team to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated tests across UI, API, integration, smoke, and regression scenarios. Key responsibilities include:
• Setting up and managing test environments for client and web applications, services, and databases
• Designing and building scalable, reusable test automation frameworks
• Reviewing user stories and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios, risks, and quality gaps
• Integrating automated tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines
• Performing functional, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing
• Testing APIs, microservices, web applications, databases, and distributed system integrations
• Collaborating with developers to improve testability and automation coverage
• Troubleshooting automation, application, environment, and test-data failures
• Leveraging AI-assisted tools for test-case generation, automation development, code reviews, and failure analysis
• Mentoring junior Test Automation Engineers and contributing to engineering best practices
• Participating in Agile ceremonies, release planning, and continuous improvement activities
You'll work across diverse environments including Windows and Linux, with exposure to PowerShell scripting, bash, database administration, virtualization technologies, and public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
REQUIREMENTS:
• 4–7 years of experience in software testing, test automation, or software development
• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, SpecFlow, or Cucumber
• Strong experience testing REST APIs using Postman, Rest Assured, Playwright, or equivalent tools
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Experience with Git and CI/CD technologies (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Understanding of modern quality practices: Shift Left Testing, Test Pyramid, risk-based testing, continuous testing
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Ability to build mocks, emulators, fakes, stubs, and test case libraries
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) is advantageous
• Experience with or willingness to adopt AI-assisted engineering tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude)
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in distributed teams
• Experience in Convenience Retail, Fuel, Payments, Wholesale, Loyalty, or Logistics domains is preferred
