The company develops modular unmanned aircraft designed to adapt across missions, payloads, and deployment environments. As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will own the test infrastructure and automation strategy for validating aircraft software across simulation and hardware environments. This is a software engineering role with a focus on test automation, requiring you to build the frameworks, tools, and infrastructure that enable rapid, repeatable validation of complex autonomous systems. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and implementing scenario-based automated tests for aircraft capabilities, interfaces, failure modes, and recovery behaviors - Developing comprehensive test frameworks, harnesses, and services for execution across SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and VIL (Vehicle-in-the-Loop) environments - Converting release test plans into repeatable automated campaigns with clear reporting and failure diagnostics - Building test orchestration systems to improve configuration, execution, data collection, analysis, and reporting - Investigating integration failures across aircraft software, simulation, networking, hardware, and test infrastructure - Collaborating with software and systems engineers to identify test coverage gaps and shift testing earlier in development - Continuously improving the test platform to make automation easier to develop, maintain, and scale Required qualifications: 5+ years of software engineering, test automation, integration, or related experience; strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages; experience building automated test frameworks and infrastructure; proven ability testing complex integrated software systems; hands-on experience with SIL/HIL/VIL or hardware-connected test environments; strong debugging across software, interfaces, networking, and hardware; experience automating test execution, data collection, and reporting; and integration of automated testing into CI/CD workflows. Preferred experience includes autonomous systems, robotics, aircraft, or vehicle testing; scenario-based testing or fault injection; distributed test execution systems; telemetry or time-series data analysis; and aerospace, defense, UAS, or safety-critical software backgrounds.
