Adyen is seeking a Python Software Engineer to join the Documentation Tooling Team within the Developer Experience group. This role focuses on building the next generation of Adyen's knowledge infrastructure platform—transforming static documentation into structured, queryable knowledge that powers reliable access for customers, developers, AI agents, and internal teams.
You will own core technical challenges across five key areas: (1) Content Architecture—designing scalable graph schemas, ontologies, and metadata models for consistency and discoverability; (2) Serverless Pipeline Orchestration—configuring and optimizing AWS serverless pipelines to ingest documentation from distributed sources; (3) Knowledge Systems Design—building structured representations that enable programmatic connection, navigation, and querying; (4) APIs for Knowledge & AI Access—creating high-performance retrieval interfaces optimized for developers and AI agents; and (5) Instrumentation and Quality—implementing automated controls and validation to detect documentation drift and ensure platform integrity.
Key responsibilities include implementing and delivering the knowledge platform foundation for AI-native interfaces, designing and orchestrating AWS serverless pipelines (Step Functions, Lambda) to ingest content from headless CMS and Git repositories, defining graph schemas and writing optimized Cypher queries for Neo4j, collaborating cross-functionally with technical writers, product managers, and cloud teams, and contributing to engineering excellence through code reviews and mentorship.
You bring deep production Python experience, proficiency with AWS serverless orchestration, hands-on expertise with Neo4j and Cypher, proven success building robust content-ingestion and ETL pipelines that transform unstructured data into graph databases, and experience designing performant APIs for complex retrieval. Knowledge of GraphRAG patterns or vector embedding integration (Amazon Bedrock) is a strong plus. You're comfortable with Infrastructure-as-Code (Pulumi), understand Kubernetes/EKS collaboration models, and excel at translating strategy into technical initiatives while communicating effectively across engineering and non-technical audiences.
