Neo4j is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Aura Instances team, responsible for the core user experience and infrastructure for managing Neo4j database instances on the Aura cloud platform. This team builds the foundation that other teams leverage for tooling, manages internal APIs, customer support systems, and maintains build and deployment pipelines.
You will contribute to mission-critical technology infrastructure used by thousands of users globally, with most users being other mission-critical systems demanding high availability and reliability. The role involves designing scalable technical infrastructure that adapts to diverse user needs, with opportunities to explore challenging technologies beyond typical end-user applications.
The team is split between Malmö and London offices, requiring comfort working in a distributed environment. You'll work on full-stack development with a strong emphasis on backend technologies. Key responsibilities include designing and developing HTTP APIs, implementing data persistence logic, async and event-based processing, and integrating with third-party services. The role also involves extensive automated testing across unit, integration, and full-stack levels.
Required skills: strong proficiency in Python or Golang (willingness to work in both), moderate Kubernetes skills, and JavaScript/TypeScript competency. React experience is a plus. Production experience with the tech stack (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Python, GoLang, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, Azure) is desirable but not essential. You should be comfortable working as part of a distributed team and have experience with comprehensive automated testing approaches.
